PLEASE HELP ALAN HELP THE RESIDENTS OF CORNERWAYS RESIDENTIAL HOME GET AN OM INTERACTIVE SENSORY PROJECTION SYSTEM.

Alan needs to raise £8000

Cornerways Residential Home in Hythe is a small Family-owned Care Home with 20 precious years.

Residents living their best lives in their final days. The Staff at Cornerways are always looking for ways to improve the quality of life of our residents whilst maintaining their independence, wherever possible.

If you, or someone dear to you, is living with dementia you will know first-hand how this affects every aspect of that person’s life. At Cornerways we try our level best to maintain as normal a life as possible for all our residents. All our residents have equal rights and can access any communal area in the Home.

As we are not a purpose-built Care Home we have to face the challenges of space. We work hard to ensure that our lack of space does not impact on our Residents’ ability to do the activities they want to do.  Our Activities Co-ordinator, Karen, saw the interactive dementia-friendly tables on social media and suggested we try and raise the funds to get one of these in Cornerways. We believe it will benefit our Residents greatly. All Staff were tasked with thinking of ways to fundraise.

Our Deputy Manager, Carole, chatted to her husband, Alan, who cycles to keep himself fit and he did some investigating into the merits of these interactive tables and hatched a plan. Alan will be cycling in a few planned cycle rides and any money he raises will be put towards our “Interactive table fund.”  The journey has begun and if you feel you would like to sponsor his cycle rides please support him with whatever you can. His first 50-mile ride is on the 4th of July 2021.

The Big East Kent Bike Ride is a 50-mile ride will take place on 12/09/2021 and The Pilgrims Hospices Cycle Challenge which is also a 50-mile ride will take place at The Pavillion, University of Kent in Canterbury on Sunday 22/08/2021.

Great things can be achieved if many people offer their support in little ways. Thanks for reading, please share our vision with those you think may want to be included in his and our journey.

If you would like to sponsor please visit Alan’s GoFundMe page here.
