Karen expressed to us that her mother had suffered from a stroke with an early onset of Dementia. Karen cared for her mother for 8 years to the best of her ability but after her death 10 years ago, she started to question her self ‘Did I do enough, could I have done more?’ and since then all she has wanted to do is to pursue caring for others to the best of her ability, as she would want to be cared for and to truly make a difference in someone’s life.

Loves her job because… She continuously has a positive impact on the residence, and she quotes ‘It’s the best job in the world’.

Pets: An adopted black Belgium Sheperd from Lord Whiskey Sanctuary, her name is Laila and she has been living comfortably with us for over a year now and hopefully more years to come.

Leisure interests and hobbies: She loves to bake, do crosswords, garden, and of course take our Laila out for long walks.

Favourite quote or saying: ‘Don’t worry, be happy’.

An interesting fact about Karen: She was a publican for 10 years and wore many hats in the day to day running of her business!
