Cornerway’s Residential Care Home provides a diverse range of day care activities and events for our residents who wish to take part. Resident favourites include arts and crafts, baking, gardening, bingo, singing, games and films.
Day Outings & Outdoor Events
From time to time and weather permitting our residential care home manager will organize special outings and events for residents who wish to take part. These include trips to the local seaside ‘Sandgate Beach,’ the town centre, local theatres, and festivals and events happening within local distance. Friends and family members of residents are also welcomed to come along or meet us there.
Assisted Therapy
Occasionally management will bring in animals and a trained handler for private or group assisted therapy sessions, most commonly cats and dogs. This tends to happen upon request or if we feel it will help and support our resident’s wellbeing at a particular time. Other types of therapy include music therapy, doll therapy and art therapy.
General Day Care
It is exceedingly rare that you will see or hear our residents feeling bored or restless. We are actively incorporating daily leisure, activities, therapies, and entertainment at the care home, which includes home gardening, painting, reading, knitting, pamper days with mobile guests, visits from local school children and guest actors, performers, and magicians.
Special Occasions
Birthdays, Memorial Days, Christmas, and other special occasions and seasonal events are organized and celebrated with residents who wish to take part.
